Key Principles for Creators & Adventurers

You own the original stories, worlds, and creations you author. In return, you guarantee that you do not upload or sell stolen artwork, maps, or intellectual property without legal permission. Nebula provides virtual worldbuilding tools and gamified currency (Goblin Coins) with zero cash value.

1. Acceptance of Terms & Platform Role

Welcome to Nebula (“we”, “us”, or “our”), hosted at nebula-worlds.com. By creating an account, accessing our worldbuilding software, or utilizing the Global Bazaar, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must discontinue use of the platform immediately.

Nebula acts exclusively as an online interactive virtual tabletop, campaign management software, and hosting platform. Nebula does not pre-screen or claim ownership over content authored by its users.

2. User Accounts & Security

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities occurring under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. User-Generated Content (UGC) & Intellectual Property

3.1 Ownership: You retain full ownership of all original fictional lore, worldbuilding descriptions, stat blocks, and artwork that you create and upload to Nebula.

3.2 License to Nebula: By uploading content to public areas of Nebula (such as the Bazaar) or sharing campaigns with players, you grant Nebula a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable license to store, host, cache, display, reformat, and distribute your content strictly as necessary to operate the platform and deliver services to you and other users.

3.3 Content Representations & Warranties: You explicitly warrant and represent that:

  • You own all intellectual property rights to the content you publish or have obtained valid commercial/distribution licenses from the copyright holders.
  • Your uploads do not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or moral rights of any third party.
  • Content exported to the Bazaar does not incorporate unlicensed artwork found on search engines, Pinterest, ArtStation, social media, or other creators’ publications.

4. User Indemnification (Vrijwaring)

Critical Legal Commitment: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Nebula, its operators, creators, directors, affiliates, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable legal and attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Any content you upload, publish, or distribute via Nebula or the Bazaar;
  • Any claim that your content infringes or misappropriates any copyright, trademark, patent, or proprietary right of a third party;
  • Your violation of these Terms of Service or applicable law.

5. Virtual Currencies & The Bazaar Economy

5.1 Closed-Loop Gamification: Nebula features virtual tokens including Goblin Coins, Gold, and Platinum. These tokens are virtual gamification items intended solely for gameplay, platform progression, and acquiring community artifacts within the Nebula ecosystem.

5.2 No Real Monetary Value: Virtual tokens possess zero monetary or cash equivalent value. They do not constitute property, an investment instrument, or legal tender. Tokens cannot be redeemed, refunded, transferred, or exchanged for fiat currency (euros, dollars, etc.) or any external financial asset.

5.3 Platform Discretion: Nebula reserves the right to manage, adjust, balance, or regulate virtual currencies and listing fees to preserve a fair community economy.

6. Content Moderation & Notice-and-Takedown

Nebula maintains a zero-tolerance policy for intellectual property theft, hate speech, harassment, malware, and illegal content. We operate in compliance with the European Union Digital Services Act (DSA) and the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

7. Third-Party TTRPG Systems & Fan Content

Nebula is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored, or specifically approved by Wizards of the Coast LLC, Paizo Inc., or other tabletop roleplaying publishers. Where game mechanics reference the System Reference Document 5.1 (“SRD 5.1”), such material is utilized pursuant to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY-4.0) released by Wizards of the Coast LLC.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nebula and its operators provide the platform on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind. Under no circumstances shall Nebula be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill.
